3 Easy baking things to do when you are bored!

 1) Marshmallow pops

These are easy, tasty treats to whip up quickly and pop in your mouth!!! All you need is:

  • A microwave safe bowl
  • chocolate (bars or chips)
  • regular sized marshmallows
  • sprinkles (optional)
  • popsicle sticks
Now, put your chocolate in the bowl and microwave until is is melted. Take your marsh mallows and stick the popsicle stick in. Dip the marshmallow in the chocolate and then the sprinkles. Enjoy!

Rice crispy treats

These are a classic snack but I have added my own spin... *DRUMROLE* Peanut Butter Chocolate Rice Crispy Treats! I know... very original!   All you need is:

  • Rice crispys
  • Marshmallows
  • Peanut butter
  • Chocolate (if using chocolate you may need a microwave safe bowl) or Nutella
  • Pot
  • Tray
  • Spatula
Now, melt your marshmallows on the stove, in the pot. Then add the rice crispys and peanut butter (off heat). Put the mixture on the tray and spread it evenly and either refrigerate or leave to set. Lastly either melt your chocolate in the microwave and apply using a spatula before cutting or apply your Nutella.

Mini apple pastries

These are fun tasty and warm! Great for a cool autumn/fall afternoon. All you need is:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 and 1/2 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • bowl
  • spoon(s)
  • saran wrap
  • muffin tin
  • 3 apples
  • cinnamon
  • powdered sugar
  • cupcake liners
  • 1/2 cup of sugar (separate from other sugar)
  • frying pan
First dice your apples and put them in a  frying pan with the 1/2 cup of sugar. heat until sugar caramelizes. the add the cinnamon off heat. Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius. combine the butter, cream cheese and sugar. Then add the flower gradually. mix until doughy. Next wrap in saran wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Line your muffin tin with cupcake liners and put a small amount of dough on the bottom and insides of the wrappers so that you cannot see the paper on the inside. bake for 6 minutes give or take (remember we are making mini ones so if yours are in a pie tin or large cupcake tin bake for loner, we are only pre baking though and it won't be all the way cooked!) put your apple filling in and bake for another 5 minutes (depending on how big you made them they might take longer, or shorter!) take them out when the pastry is no longer doughy. Lastly sprinkle the powdered sugar on top and enjoy!
