How to survive boring classes at school
Hello everybody! There is always that one teacher that seems to suck all the fun out of everything. They often spend most of the lesson ranting on about something instead of giving you a cool activity to do. And just so you know, this post is not an attack on boring teachers, just a resource for their students. There are no boring people, only boring lessons.
At my school teachers vary, one of my history teachers, for example, had us crack a cool code in history. But then there are the teachers who never seem to plan anything hands on. Take my science teacher for example, he is an interesting person, he is an artist and former triathlon racer. His lessons however, are less than interactive. He lectures us then gives us a sheet to do 'under test conditions'. So most days were stuck inside working in silence while the other classes are conducting an experiment on potato's or doing elephants toothpaste, or at least that's what they said. So, this post isn't called me writing a biography of my science teacher, no this is how you can survive your boring classes.
Tip one:
Listen to what they are saying
this probably makes me sound like a teacher, but if you listen, you can think about what makes them so boring and you can vent these critiques to a friend after class
Tip two
Do a maze
If your school isn't too strict about drawing on you hands, draw a rough maze on your hands and trace the correct pattern on you hand or have a friend try if they sit next to you. If you would get in trouble for drawing on your hand, do it on a bit of scrap paper you can hide in your book.
Tip three
Think about something else
If you tune out of what the teacher is saying, you'll still learn because, most the time, when a teacher is ranting, they are just repeating themselves or going into detail. Then, if you stare past them while they are talking, they'll never know and you are free to let your mind wander.
